  • Electrolysis

    What is electrolysis?
Electrolysis is permanent hair removal that can treat any combination of hair colour and skin. Electrolysis aims to remove unwanted hair to enable you further freedom and confidence in your body. Electrolysis differs from other hair removal methods in that it tackles each hair on an individual basis.

    How does it work?
Electrolysis works by sending a current from a metal probe down each individual hair follicle, a combination of this electrical current and a chemical reaction kills the root, thereby stopping any regrowth.

    What brand do we use?
We use Sterex which is a renowned brand this can be with either Diathermy or Blend method.

    The benefits:
    Permanent hair removal
Effective on all hair colours including grey and blonde
    Suitable for all skin types

How long is an electrolysis treatment?
This varies depending on what area is being treated but can range between 5 minutes for a small area to an hour for a larger area.

    Does it hurt?
Most clients find it bearable and some find moderate pain, if needed a topical anesthetic can be applied.

    What are the side effects?
Immediately after the treatment the area may be red, sore and bumpy. This should reside within a few hours to a couple of days. After care is very important.

    How many sessions are needed?
The total number of sessions needed to remove hair permanently from a particular area will vary from person to person. Generally speaking it can take anything from 8 months up to 2 years in some cases.

  • Waxing

Waxing removes unwanted hairs from the root, ensuring super smooth skin for longer. These are safe and hygienic methods of hair removal which are available for both men and women.

How long does my hair need to be?
Please let your hair grow for around three weeks for optimum waxing hair removal results. It should be about 1/4 inch before it’s waxed. Too long and it’ll break and be difficult to remove. Too short and the wax won’t be able to get a grip, elongated the waxing process and potentially causing more pain or irritation.

    How long does it last?
Most people see minimal regrowth around three weeks and return for repeat waxing between four to six weeks after their initial visit.

    Before & After care
Exfoliate and moisturise in between treatments.

  • Laser Hair Removal

    What is laser hair removal?
Laser hair removal is a safe and effective way of removing unwanted hair, permanently. The way it works is simple. Light is absorbed by melanin, the pigment in the hair follicle. The laser’s light energy heats the pigment and destroys the hair follicle. It only affects the specific structures of the hair and follicle, leaving the surrounding skin undamaged.

    What areas can I laser?
The most popular areas treated every day include: Legs | Back | Chest |Bikini | Brazilian | Hollywood |Underarms | Face | Arms | Full Body

    What machines do Essence use?

    • Lumenis lightsheer diode laser
    • Cuters Ndyag and IPL.

    Am i suitable for laser?
Before  treatment an initial consultation free of charge is required. The purpose of the consultation is to ask you a few questions about your health and lifestyle so that we can make sure that Laser Hair Removal is suitable. We then undertake a patch test on a small area of skin in order to make sure that your skin doesn’t have any adverse effects to our laser technology. If the patch test is successful we can then book you in for your laser hair removal treatment at a date and time of your suiting.

    Is it permanent?
Many clients experience up to 80% permanent hair loss after completing a course of laser hair removal treatment. This is a dramatic and huge impact on grooming habits and routines. Occasional top-up sessions may be required once a year or once every two years depending on the individual. Compare that with continuing to shave every few weeks.

    Does it hurt?
Some clients report a tingling sensation on the surface of the skin during treatment often described like having an elastic band flicked against your skin. After treatment the skin may appear slightly sore or red immediately after the treatment In a few cases this can last up to 48hrs.

  • Dermapen Needling

    How does it work?
The Dermapen is a hand-held medical device for clinic use. It has a disposable piece that is inserted into the top of the device that contains many tiny sterile needles. These needles penetrate into the skin at different levels depending on the part of the face, depth of scar or the condition being treated. This causes a micro injury to the skin which is turn causes healing. This healing releases new collagen and elastin and growth factors, which cause the remodeling & breaking down old of collagen and scar tissue.

    Dermapen is recommended to treat:
    Aged Sagging Skin
    Fine Lines & Wrinkles
    Smokers Lines around lips
    Skin Tightening & Rejuvenation
    Large Pores
    Stretch Marks
    Acne Scars
    Surgical Scars
    Burns

    Does it hurt?
No, not at all. Prior to your Dermapen treatment, we will remove make-up and deeply cleanse your skin using an antiseptic. You will feel the Dermapen on your skin, so you will feel sensation, but no pain.

What can I expect after treatment?
The treated area will be red for 12-48 hours and your skin may feel warmer and tighter than usual. You should keep your face free of make-up that day. After that the redness can be minimised with a concealer. The skin may flake slightly 2-3 days after the procedure.

How long do the results last?
The results from micro-needling skin remodeling can go on for months after each Dermapen treatment. Results can be seen from one to eight weeks later. Typically you will see results after your first treatment.

How many treatments will I need?
Lasting and more significant results will occur after 4-6 treatments when spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. Your skin naturally heals itself every 45 days, so with micro-needling stimulation changes can be effective and ongoing. Full effects of skin tightening might not show until 6 months after your last treatment.

What areas can be treated by Limelight?
Limelight is ideal for treating any area of the body that has redness, telangiactasias (tiny veins) or brown spots. Some of the most popular areas for treatment are the face, neck, decollete (upper chest) and hands. Light brown spots, which were previously difficult to resolve, respond very well to this treatment.

    What does treatment feel like?
When the pulse of light is delivered during your Limelight treatment, patients experience a mild stinging sensation. Gel is usually used during the treatment to cool the skin and make the treatment more comfortable.

How many treatments will I need?
We recommend a series of 4 treatments for best results. Treatments are scheduled 3-4 weeks apart. Additional treatments may be recommended, especially for excessively sun damaged skin.

Immediately following each treatment, brown spots may start to darken and your skin may appear slightly red. The treated area may be mildly swollen for a few hours or even for a day. Over the 7-15 days immediately after the treatment, the brown spots may slough or peel. Make-up may be worn immediately after treatments, so the redness is usually easy to cover. You must avoid sun exposure for 6 weeks.

New brown spots, small veins and diffuse redness may appear with new sun damage: however they too can be treated. Remember to always apply broad spectrum sunscreen when outdoors to minimize the appearance of new damage. Rosacea is chronic and cannot be “cured” with any laser or light source, however its appearance will be much improved with LimeLight treatments.

Will I see the difference immediately?
It takes around 2 weeks to visually see the results. This is because the treatment relaxes the muscles to stop you making the same lines and creases, in time the lines then fade.

It can last 3 months but it can be longer as your muscles will slowly return and you start to create the lines and creases again.

Dermal fillers are a non-invasive treatment used to rejuvenate, restore volume, add plumpness to your face to reduce wrinkles while restoring natural facial contours of areas prone to skin loss during the natural ageing process. They are most often used to treat; lips, cheeks and nasolabial folds. Treatments carried out by our qualified resident Doctor.

Will I see the difference immediately?
Results of filler treatment are instant, but just like Botox the body will disperse of the product naturally and results will fade.

    How long will it last?
Dermal filler lasts longer, in fact it can take between 6 and 18 months to fully wear off.

How will I know whether I need anti-wrinkle injections or filler?
This can be difficult for some people, therefore we recommend a telephone conversation to determine what your concerns are, this will help us understand which treatment will be best, this may result in a face to face consultation.
